If you are not familiar with halloumi cheese prepare to have your mind blown! This cheese is not like any other cheese - and it's definitely a standout cheese in my book! Halloumi is a hard cheese with a very high melting point which makes it great for frying, grilling, and cooking. If mozzarella and feta had a baby cheese - this would be it with its salty, tangy flavor. Traditionally seen in Mediterranean cuisines, it can also be a great substitute for meat in certain recipes since it is firm and a good source of protein. But my favorite way to enjoy it is fried up on a mezze platter with pita, hummus, pickled veggies, and other Mediterranean snacks. Check out the recipe below for a gluten-free way to enjoy the best cheese there is!
